Pre-Con III (PM Session)-

Debbie Silver- “GOING OUTSIDE THE LINES WITH DIFFERENTIATED INSTRUCTION”

Thursday, 1:00-3:30 p.m.

This session offers an overview of the basics of D.I. and tips for beginners and intermediates on how to engage students from all backgrounds and experiences.  You will discover how to implement a student-centered program designed to give every learner a reasonable chance at success as you address the standards.  You’ll leave with multiple strategies, examples, and resources. Research clearly indicates that teachers who utilize purposeful, intentional, effective differentiated instruction engender students who show not only gains in interest and motivation, but also in cognitive domains.  D.I. is being used throughout the U.S. to promote academic gains and improved school climates.

Pre-Con IV (PM Session)- Randy Thompson

Thursday, 1:00-3:30 p.m.

Randy Thompson- LEADERSHIP-"LEAD -- FOLLOW (UP) -- (AND THEN) GET THEM ON THEIR WAY!!"

Administrators, Team Leaders, Committee Chairs, District Level Personnel and anyone else charged with leadership responsibilities will benefit from this session.  Leading change in schools has been compared to trying to change the tires on a car while it's moving. In this session, we will look at educational leadership and the systems you have in your building.  Many a good administrator has been undone by bad systems within their building. We will look at how to assess your systems, how to get ownership with your staff, and how to keep things simple.  Whatever your leadership role, strategies will be shared to help you become a more effective leader. Participants will leave with System Models, Forms and Processes that will help define issues and simplify the change process.
