Debbie Silver

Debbie Silver is an award-winning educator with 30 years experience as a classroom teacher, staff development instructor, and university professor. Her numerous recognitions include being named the Louisiana State Teacher of the Year. Along the way she has taught almost every grade level and most every kind of student.

Dr. Silver has been an invited author for several educational journals and has given keynotes at state, national, and international conferences in 49 states, Canada, Europe, and Asia. She has been a featured teacher for the PBS OnLine Teacher Chat and for KDS Knowledge Delivery Systems.

Debbie's book, Drumming to the Beat of Different Marchers: Finding the Rhythm for Teaching Differentiated Learning, has just been updated and re-released by Incentive Publications. Songs she co-wrote with Monte Selby are featured on his cds. She is married to Dr. Lawrence Silver, and together they have 5 sons.

(Audiences everywhere respond to Debbie's use of humor and sensitivity to remind them of how important teachers are in the lives of children. Through research-based theory, poignant stories, and hilarious characterizations she connects with the souls of all who are involved in education.)

Mark McLeod Known for his dynamic and motivating presentations, Mark McLeod recently left his position as principal of Collins Middle School to become a full-time motivational speaker, professional development instructor, and educational consultant. Recognized as one of Mississippi's top school administrators, Mark has shared his expertise on classroom management and effective instruction at state and national conferences and conducted many workshops and keynotes for schools and districts throughout the United States. As a lifelong educator, his educational experience includes high school and middle school math teacher, coach, assistant principal, and principal. He was twice selected as Teacher of the Year for Lumberton Public School District. In 2002, he was selected as Covington County School District's Administrator of the Year and Mississippi's Region Four Administrator of the Year. His enthusiastic and encouraging presentations leave participants energized and inspired to plant seeds of success in their students.

Randy Thompson

Randy is a graduate of the University of Florida and has worked at both the Middle and High School levels in Florida and Michigan.  As a high school teacher Randy was recognized as “Teacher of the Year”.  He has also been a coach, assistant principal, curriculum coordinator, and principal, and is currently president of Mākitso Educational Consulting.

Ø       Randy has received training in Leadership and Planning in Middle and High Schools; NASSP Mentoring and Coaching; Interaction Management; Prime Middle School Training for Interdisciplinary Teaming, Flexible Block Scheduling, and Advisement/Advocacy Programs; Building Extraordinary Customer Relations; Targeted Selection Interviewer Training; TESA; and Disney Management Training.  Randy is also a trainer for High Ropes and Initiative Challenge Courses.

Ø       As the principal of Desoto Middle School and Cadillac Middle School, Randy took both schools through the restructuring process from traditional Junior High Schools to become middle schools, both of which have received exemplary recognition.

Ø       Randy wrote and implemented a program called COMPASS which stands for “Community Partnerships Assuring Student Success”.  COMPASS is a unique program that builds strong business partnerships around the schools’ curriculum to develop meaningful lessons and impact student performance.  Randy also wrote and implemented a dropout prevention program which received state recognition.

Ø       As an author Randy has co-authored two best selling books.  “FIRE UP FOR LEARNING!” is a book of motivational activities for teachers to help them differentiate instruction while firing up their students.  “WOW WHAT A TEAM!” is a book of practical strategies for middle school teams or high school academies.  The book is an interactive manual for teaming with activities from curriculum development to student management for teachers on teams to do to improve collaboration and impact student performance.  Randy has also written several articles for publication in various journals.

Ø       Randy has become a much sought after keynote speaker and presenter at state and national conferences.  In addition to presenting and keynoting at conferences, Randy has also provided a variety of consultative training services for schools and districts in over 40 states (and counting) and several foreign countries.  Randy is well known for his sense of humor and very practical strategies for school improvement.  Not only will he help you meet the No Child Left Behind requirements, he will make it fun as well.

Dedra Stafford

Dedra creates entertaining workshops that get crowds energized and excited about teaching. As a classroom teacher, she understands the need for practical ideas that can be implemented immediately into the classroom. She creates fun filled workshops designed to be hands-on and interactive. Dedra has a unique ability to put teachers at ease as she teaches technology incorporated with humor in a user friendly way. In her sessions teachers will walk away with specific, fun-filled strategies that will launch them into action.

 

Dedra Stafford is a dedicated consultant with Renee’ Boatman as Wizard Workshops Consulting. She is an Educational Speaker and has presented at national, state, and local conferences across the nation including NMSA (National Middle School Association) sharing inspirational ideas, from technology to school climate. In addition to presenting at conferences, she has also provided a variety of training for schools and districts across the Midwest. She has certified over 300 teachers through technology classes in Oklahoma. Dedra is currently serving as the Oklahoma Middle Level Education Association President for 2006-2007.
